Diary : 5 Aug 2011 ( Someone Still Cares)

As much as I would hate to say this, but something i just realised. Taking snapshots of a day, helps me write.

This morning, our management team was given a tour of Khao Kho government hospital and it was our privilege to be able to bless them with a small medical inventory of face masks and hand sanitisers-something that will come in useful for their medical staff.

Though the hospital was small, but I'm encouraged by the spirit of the medical workers. They have a very small medical budget and they are overwhelmed daily by throngs of people (mostly hill tribesmen) seeking medical attention. The CEO of the hospital extended his thanks to the donors and was grateful for the gift, more then just items, it was a symbol of friendship and a new avenue for collaboration.

Next up, we went to Huay Nam Khao public school to keep our promise :) Some time back we promised to donate some children's toys and education materials from PROJECT LIVES 2010 to the school, but with the hectic schedule, we never got the chance to visit the school till today.

But this is the beautiful thing, the student, the teachers remembered us. The greeting was liken to old friends meeting again after a long laspe. Children were running out of the classrooms, excited at what "these RADION people" brought this round !

3 sacks came out of the truck and it was filled with colourful toys, strange looking stuff toys and learning kits ! The adorable kids just wanted to cuddle and play with the toys. The look on their faces was priceless. It was like a dream come true !

Words cannot adequately describe, but here are some pictures to tell the story !

and toys come out of the bag !

The nursery teachers and their kids !

In the evening at the children's home, the children were talking about what should they do for tomorrow's mass food distribution. They said, since its going to be mother's day, shall we do something special for them (the destitute old folks) ?

So we started planning and at the side of my eye, I caught a glimpse of these little bushes of flowers. The kids immediately sprung into action and soon, they had it all thought out. - How they will make flowers into little bouquets for the elderly who will come tomorrow. A gift on mother's day as well as an action of faith to tell the elderly that someone still cares !
